2017 Humboldt Alumni Award for Innovative Networking Initiatives
The DeMiNeS („Deutsch-Mittelmeerisches Netzwerk Sprachwissenschaft”) is a research network funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (2017 Humboldt Alumni Award for Innovative Networking Initiatives to me) that supports the cooperation between Germany, Greece and other mediterranean countries in the fields of research and teaching.
The aim of DeMiNeS network is to bring together researchers interested in contributing to deeper and more systematic descriptions and theoretical modeling of empirically oriented comparative and typological studies on morphology and syntax, semantics and pragmatics, corpus linguistics, historical linguistics, language variation and language acquisition on Language Comparison and Typology of German and/or the Mediterranean languages.
The DeMiNes is open to Master, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, working in various subfields associated with the above areas.
The DeMiNes Network is part of the Research Unit on (Experimental) Syntax and Heritage Languages at the Humboldt-Universität Berlin (Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Preis 2014 to Artemis Alexiadou) and the Center “Language in Urban Diversity” at the Humboldt University of Berlin (Heike Wiese).
The 2017 Humboldt Alumni Award for Innovative Networking Initiatives will allow me to provide a wide forum for exchange on theoretically oriented and experimental comparative and typological work on current topics from the field of the above areas.
